"Four Score and Seven Years Ago.."

147 years ago today, President Abraham Lincoln spoke these words that put the conflict, in which the nation was engaged, into context. He laid out why the war was being fought and why it must continue until the United States was victorious and could give the nation " a new birth of freedom".
